The Abington Health Department in collaboration with the Abington Public Schools and Abington Fire Department are very excited to announce that we have a limited number of Pfizer Covid-19 5-11 year old vaccine appointments available. We will be offering these shots to the children of our residents beginning Tuesday November 9th at the Abington Middle School from 2:30pm-4:30pm and 3:00pm-5:00pm November 10th at the Woodsdale Elementary School. Follow up doses will be at the same time and location on November 30 and December 1.

On November 2nd 2021, CDC Director Rochelle P. Walensky, M.D., M.P.H., endorsed the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices’ (ACIP) recommendation that children 5 to 11 years old be vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric vaccine.

 

 

 

 

On 10/29/2021, the FDA amended Pfizer-BioNTech’s Emergency Use Authorization to allow the vaccine to be administered to children ages 5 to 11 years. FDA resources are available at:
